This National NCL-2000 HF Amplifier covers 10-80 Meters and is in Excellent Cosmetic Condition.

 This amplifier has been stored for some time. I tested it on my bench and it powers up okay and after the delay time, it switches to operate.

 I loaded it up on 40 meters in the CW mode and it worked fine with 800 watts output however when I switched to the SSB mode one of the bleeder resistors arced and kicked it out of the operating mode. I reset it and it did it again and this time I could see the arc came from one of the bleeder resistor ends.

 In the CW mode with the lower plate voltage the Bleeder Resistor did not arc.

 So it will no doubt need some attention and new bleeder resistors.

 I also noticed the  Ready lamp needs to be replaced. It does not illuminate when the time delay is up but the amp does go into operation after the warm up time.

 The original electrolytic capacitors should also be replaced due to the age of this amplifier, before it is put into continuous service. They are working but could fail any time.

 The Meter Selection knob has a different style inlay than the other three big knobs and is not really noticable.

 I am selling this beautiful amplifier as is, as described for parts or repair or to use as it is.

 I prefer a pickup on this item as it is really heavy (62 pounds and probablly 75 or 80 pounds packed) 

 If I do ship it will be at the risk of the buyer for and damage or shipping not covered by insurance.

 I use the best materials and double wall, double boxed packing and I think I can pack it well enough to ship.

 

The National NCL-2000 covers the 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter amateur bands. If has 1000 watts average (2000 watts PEP) input on SSB. Power is 1000 watts average on AM, CW and RTTY.

Drive power is 20 to 200 watts adjustable. May be operated with a transceiver or transmitter/receiver. It can be set to operate from 115 (20A) or 230 VAC (10A).
A great match for your NCX-3 or NCX-5.
