This RL Drake R-4 HF Receiver in Good cosmetic condition S/N 0272

The Cabinet on this receiver has some marks and touch ups but no dings or dents.

 The front face is very clean with no bad marks or scratches.

The Chassis looks to be in great shape with some minor discoloring.

I put this receiver on the air and it is working and receiving signals on 80 but they are weak. the other bands are also very weak,  so this receiver will need at least some tubes replaced and an alignment as outlined in the manual.

The receiver worked on USB. LSB, and AM. All bandwidths work as they should and the calibrator works good.

I am selling this Receiver as is, as  described, for parts or repair.

The R.L. Drake Company produced the R-4 as an advancement over the famous 2C model. The R-4 covers:  3.5-4, 7-7.5, 14-14.5, 21-21.5 and 28.5-29 MHz plus ten 500 kHz crystal positions (with optional crystals). Modes of reception include:  SSB, CW and AM. The dial accuracy is and impressive ±1 kHz. Features include:  PBT, Line out, Crystal Calibrator (100 kHz), RF Gain, Mute Jack, Speaker Jack, Anti-Vox Jack, ¼ inch headphone jack and Dial Lamp. This radio requires an external speaker. Transceive operation maybe obtained by adding the T-4 reciter or T-4X transmitter.
