This Rockwell Collins KWM-380 / HF-380 NEW Display Board & LED Segments, Is the latest Item for the KWM-380 and HF-380, and has been exclusively developed for the Nationwide Radio line up.

You will only find them here and there is a very limited number of this display made The original circuit boards are no longer available

The original Display board and LED segments, are getting old and dim with age. This happens very slow and you do not even realize how dim they are.....till you see the new display! 

The new LED segments are built on a brand new, Original Rockwell Collins Circuit boards, and the new LED segments are absolutely brilliant. Behind the filter they are the same color as the originals but much brighter and precise.

 The LED Segments are as bright as the day the radio was made, and will not dim over time as the original LED segments do.

 The KWM-380 and HF-380  are getting old, and the display is one part that may fail. When they do, your radio will be hard to repair and hard to find the correct LED segments, as they are no longer available.

For some time now, a certain "Surplus Sales" Store has been selling the replacement LED segments saying they will work with some  KWM-380 & HF-380 radios.

They will not work in any KWM-380 & HF-380 radios, so if you purchased them thinking you will have spares, you will be very disjointed to find they will not work!

Why wait till your display fails or why keep looking at a dim display when you can have a brand new display with nice bright brilliant display LEDs?

I have only a limited number of these boards so do not hesitate to get one while they last!

More LED Information:

The seven segment LED displays used in the HF/KWM-380 transceivers and the 451S-1 receiver were made with first-generation, late 1970’s display LED technology.    They were a great advance in their day.  These old LED displays get dim with time, and start to fail after years of use.  

There were some Surplus Stores that have had a number of these obsolete and otherwise not available original display modules in stock, or so it seemed.  

While the single digit module will work, the two digit modules are not correct and will not work in *any* of the HF/KWM-380 radios.

 The sellers of these incorrect items hastily corrected their offering to say “[the] display will not fit all KWM/HF-380’s.”  Actually, they don’t fit *any* 380’s, meaning functioning displays are essentially no longer available.

In 2014 a large semiconductor company came out with a line of seven segment LED displays using new third generation technology.

 This new technology produces an LED that is far more efficient (making the segments brighter and more uniform) and has a service life ten times greater than the first generation.

 Lucky for the 380 owner, this manufacturer introduced replacement LED displays that are the identical size, shape, color, and pin-out as the original units!  

These new devices are available to manufacturers on special order only with a very large minimum purchase.
