EF Johnson SUPER RARE Viking 6n2 Transverter, for 6 & 2 Meters, that matches the Valiant 2 Transmitter

This EF Johnson SUPER RARE Viking 6n2 Transverter, for 6 & 2 Meters, matches the Valiant 2 Transmitter.

 This is a transverter and not the fairly common 6n2 receive converter or transmitter.

 This unit is the same size and color as the Johnson Viking SSB Adapter, made for the Valiant 2.

Unlike the SSB Adapter, it appears to have an on board power supply.

 This one is in good cosmetic condition and appears to be complete. The front panel looks nice with only a few small marks. As is typical for the gray cabinet paint, there are a few small spots where the paint has small pieces flaked off, but not too bad.

 It does look like it was being used with a transmitter other than a Johnson Viking Valiant 2 as the interface cable has a large Jones plug.

 I do not have any other information on this unit other than it is Serial number 1011.

 Only one other unit could be found that was referred to in my research and that one was Serial number 1017.

 I could not find this transverter in any EF Johnson catalogs  or any reference to it.

Because I was able to find at least one other transverter like this, I do not think it is a prototype as some have speculated, but rather a transverter that had a very short production run, and was discontinued shortly after it was introduced to the market.

I do not have any paperwork for this item.

 It is being sold as is as described for the family of a silent key, who was a collector of rare and hard to find items.
