This Kenwood R-5000 General Coverage Communications Receiver With YK-88A-1 Optional AM Filter Installed, is in Excellent Condition.

The Optional YK-88A-1 is very disirable and is a hard to find option.

 There are no other options installed.

this beautiful receiver is super clean with no bad marks or scratches. You will be hard pressed to find a cleaner R-5000.

 This is a solid time proven receiver that looks as well as it performs. It is a great Emergency bug out receiver for when the SHTF !

 All Controlls are working as they should.  

 I am selling it as is , as described for a friend of mine who I beleive purchased it new.

A reproduction of the manual is included.

Comments: The 2x5 keypad format takes some time to get used to. The keyboard tends to develop "key bounce" after several years of use, but otherwise a very reliable set. The optional VC-20 VHF converter covers 108-174 MHz in all modes. The R-5000 is double conversion in all modes but FM.
