Kenwood TS-830S HF Ham Band Transceiver 10 to 160 Meters with WARC Bands in Very Good Cosmetic Condition S/N 2090187

This Kenwood TS-830S HF Ham Band Transceiver, covers 10 to 160 Meters with WARC Bands.

It is in Very Good Cosmetic Condition and is S/N 2090187.

 Other than a few small marks, it looks very nice. The meter lamp (12 volt Wheat lamp) needs to be replaced and it is super easy to replace as it is in the open when you remove the top cover.

 I tested this transceiver on the air and it puts out about 100 watts on all bands with no apparent problems.

 This radio was part of an estate from a silent key and it sat a while before the family asked me for help selling it. The band switch is a bit dirty and cleaned up and works better with use so it appears to be okay. The controls may need some contact cleaner, but everything seems to be working.

  The radio has very good transmit audio on both USB and LSB so the filters are good and it has typical Kenwood excellent transmit audio.

 The rig also receive very well even with the poor band conditions of late.

 As with most vintage gear, it may be improved with an alignment and some cleaning but it appears to be working okay as it is.

 I am selling this HF rig as is, as described for the family of a silent key.

The Kenwood TS-830S follows in the tradition of the successful TS-820S. It is designed for SSB and CW modes in the 160 through 10 meter ham bands, and additionally includes the 30, 17 and 12 meter WARC bands. Power input is 220 watts PEP SSB and 180 watts DC CW. The finals are a pair of 6146B tubes. (This transceiver does not have general coverage receive).

Requires 120 VAC 50/60 Hz 295 watts. 13.3 x 5.3 x 13.37 inches 29.8 lbs (333x133x333 mm 13.5 kg).
