 This Kobitone 25LM024 Brand New Microphone Element, is The Perfect Replacement for Amplified Astatic D-104 Microphones.

For years this was the go to Element to replace the ageing and bad sounding Astatic D-104 elements which degrade with age.

 In 2005 these elements were discontinued, and stock was quickly depleted. There was also a Kobitone 25LM022 that was still in production for a while after 2005, but it was also discontinued and it did not sound near as good as the 25LM024.

 I was able to find a limited supply of these great sounding Microphone elements and am pleased to offer them for the perfect replacement for the Astatic D-104 Elements which are failing with age, and not sounding near as good as they originally did.

 Mounting this element in a D-104 is very easy, using the foam shims I will supply with each element.

You simply cut the supplied strip into small pieces and install the element as shown in the pictures, using them in the spots that do not impede the long screws to secure the two sides on the head. You can also use a piece on the back side of the element as shown in the picture to help hold it in place and prevent the two solder terminals from shorting out against the metal housing.

 The foam suspends the Kobitone element and provides some shock relief as well.

This element will work best with Amplified D-104 Microphones but may also work with non amplified units if you turn the gain on the radio up.
