Description

This Ten-Tec Corsair II HF Transceiver is Fully Loaded with All Filters. It comes with the RARE Model 263 Remote VFO, & Model 960 Matching Heavy Duty Power Supply.  The Serial # of the Radio is 561-02470.

 The optional filters installed are the #262, 250 Hz CW Filter,  The #285, 500 Hz CW Filter, and the #288 1.8 KC SSB Filter.

 This complete station is in Collector Quality Condition, and works very well.

This item is part of Bill Shadid's collection (W9MXQ)   Bill has been collecting fine vintage gear for many years, always looking for the cleanest and nicest of each model. 

 He has decided to sell some of the gear to free up more room, (Hopefully for more Gear!)  Bill writes articles about vintage Amateur radio gear and is an excellent Technician.

 All his gear has been recently tested and checked for functionality before being delivered to me, to offer on my website.

The only thing bill found of concern is the power supply sometimes will not come on when switched on. simply switching it on again will bring it up. To Date it has always turned on.

The TenTec 263 Remote VFO is very cool. It allows you to transmit and receive in split mode but also allows you to listen to both frequencies simultaneously! So, if you're working a huge pile up you can listen to the DX station and listen to your transmit frequency. This means that you can tune around with the transmitter VFO, looking for the guy the DX is working and then pounce on the frequency as soon as that QSO is finished. What a great feature.

 The Model 263 VFO is in great shape.

 The Matching 961 Power Supply is also in great shape and really rounds out the station.

 Many say this is one of the greatest rigs that TenTec built with a great QSK system. 

I am selling this station as is, as described, for mya friend Bill, who has been collection Ten-Tec and other classic and vintage radios.

Due to the age of this gear I cannot guarantee it or accept returns, however I has been tested on the air and it appears to all be functioning as it should.

Receiver

  • Selectivity: 16-pole crystal ladder filtering. 2.4 kHz bandwidth, 1.6 to 1 shape factor at 6/60 dB. Three position switch selects standard ssb filter, optional 1.8 kHz ssb filter, 500 Hz cw filter, or 250 Hz cw filter.
  • Notch Filter: Greater than 50 dB notch tunable between 200 Hz and 3.5 kHz.
  • Audio Bandpass Filter: 8 pole active band pass centered at 750 Hz. Variable fader control selects filtered for flat audio response.
  • CW Spot: Removes offset and shifts BFO 750 Hz.
  • I-F Frequencies: 9 MHz and 6.3 MHz.
  • Antenna Input: Low impedance, unbalanced.
  • RX Antenna Input: Switchable 50 ohm RCA phono jack provides separate input to receiver section only.
