 This coil set is in excellent shape! Some appear to be new old stock! All are solid, The 20 Meter Coil has a small repair on the cross brace. 

 
The Barker & Williamson (B&W) JVL coil set refers to the "Junior Variable Link" series of vintage plug-in air-wound transmitting inductors, a lighter-duty line from the mid-20th century (popular in the 1940s–1960s) for amateur radio use. These were designed for lower-to-moderate power applications (typically up to ~75–150 watts, compared to higher-power HDVL or TVL series), often in link-coupled antenna tuners, exciters, small amplifiers, or band-switching transmitters.The JVL series features:
  • Air-wound tinned copper coils embedded in plastic rib supports for high Q (efficiency) and stability.
  • A variable/adjustable link coil (center-tapped or similar) for optimized coupling and impedance matching between primary and secondary circuits.
  • Plug-in bases (usually ceramic or plastic) for quick band changes.
  • Some designs use dual main coils end-to-end with the link in between for certain bands.
  • Primarily for HF amateur bands (e.g., 10m, 15m, 20m, 40m, 80m, sometimes 160m).
These were marketed as "Junior" coils for experimenters, mobile/fixed setups, or lower-power rigs.JVL coils are collectible for vintage ham radio restoration, homebrew projects, or matching classic equipment (e.g., in old QST articles or handbooks referencing B&W plug-ins).
