Amphenol 80-MC2M, 2 Pin 1930 to 1940 Vintager Offset Microphone Connector for Collins, EF Johnson, Heathkit, Hallicrafters, and Browning  NOS / USA

This connector was standard on many vintage ham radio transceivers and transmitters, including:
  • Collins (e.g., 32V-1, 32V-2, 32V-3, some KWM-series mics).
  • Heathkit (e.g., SB-101, HW-101, DX-100, many others).
  • E.F. Johnson (Viking series).
  • Browning (Mark III, Golden Eagle Mark II).
  • Hallicrafters (e.g., HT-32 transmitter mic input).
  • Some CB radios, early aviation mics, PA systems, and test equipment (e.g., Keithley instruments).
The offset pins provided reliable keyed mating in an era before standardized multi-pin connectors like XLR or 4/5/8-pin DIN became dominant.
 
The connectors I have in stock are New old stock and not in the original packages. Some may have minor marks, they have never had wires soldered to the pins.
 
Unlike the modern 80-MC2M which features a straight, slim body shell, the original vintage 80-MC2M, was built with the exact same heavy-duty metal housing design as the single-pin 80-81 to protect thick vintage cloth or rubber cable. 
 
The Shell Design
It features the identical retro body architecture—including the distinctively wider rear collar portion that curves outward to accommodate the larger, heavy-gauge strain relief spring.

The Spring: It utilizes the same large-diameter spring found on the 80-81 to protect thick vintage cloth or rubber mic cables. The opening is approximately 1/4 inch. It is tapered down on one end for smaller cable.
 
The Amphenol 80-MC2M  is a classic vintage 2-pin offset (non-in-line) male microphone connector from the Amphenol 80 series. This series was widely used from the 1930s through the 1980s (and into later production under WPI/CDM after Amphenol sold the line in the early 1980s) for audio, public address, ham radio, CB, aviation, and broadcast equipment.
 This version was made from 1930 to 1940.
