Description

Collins 32RS-1 RARE Transceiver Instruction Manual Copy Dec 1961

This Rare manual is for the 32RS-1 Transceiver used mainly in Air Ports. It is built much like the KWM-2.

This manual is a first generation copy, printed with a commercial laser printer.

The picture is the original and this listing is for the Copy

The Collins 32RS-1 is a scarce commercial HF SSB transceiver (not an amateur S-Line or KWM-2). It is a self-contained 100-watt PEP upper-sideband unit with four crystal-controlled channels covering 1.6–15 MHz. Designed for simple, reliable operation by non-technical users, it was primarily used in airports, forestry services, government installations, and other commercial fixed-station applications.

It shares many circuit and design similarities with the amateur KWM-2 but was purpose-built for commercial service. Variants included cabinet, rack-mount, and mobile versions, with optional antenna couplers and RTTY capability.
