This is a high-capacitance Type E-series compact single-section unit. Published values are typically 18–1000 pF (your measured 21–1000 pF is an excellent match). Plate spacing / air gap: Approximately 0.030–0.045″ (standard for high-capacitance Type E frames). Voltage rating: 1,500 V peak. Construction: Aluminum plates with rounded edges, heavy aluminum end frames and tie rods, dense molded steatite (ceramic) insulators, and a ¼″ shaft. Designed for medium-power RF service, especially useful as a loading or tank capacitor in transmitters, amplifiers, and antenna tuners where high capacitance in a compact package is required. Clean used. Free-turning shaft, good plate meshing, and intact steatite end pieces visible in the photos. Frame clearly stamped 154-30.
