Genuine E.F. Johnson Co. (Waseca, MN) single-section air-variable capacitor. The nameplate is blank for Type/Cat. No. and Serial, but clearly stamped CAP μμF 500. Your measurements and the classic construction match the Type “C” / high-capacity single-section family (close to catalog examples such as 152-2 / 500C70 or related 500 pF Type C/D units).

Heavy aluminum end frames, aluminum plates, steatite (ceramic) insulators, ¼″ cadmium-plated shaft. The crank handle makes it convenient for panel or chassis mounting where frequent adjustment is needed.
