Description

This Tube has been tested on a Dyna-Quick Model 700 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. All NOS tubes I sell measure 100 % Grid Emission.

The tube in the photograph is the actual Tube in this listing.

The General Electric (GE) JAN 6146W is a ruggedized military-spec (JAN = Joint Army-Navy) beam power tetrode vacuum tube. It is a direct plug-in replacement for the 6146, 6146A, and 6146B in most amateur radio and industrial applications.

Key Specifications
  • Type: Beam power tetrode (transmitting tube)
  • Filament: 6.3 V, 1.25 A
  • Plate Dissipation: Typically rated 25 W (ICAS) for standard 6146W; post-1964 production (including your 1987 tubes) is built to the higher 6146B specs with ~35 W dissipation capability and improved performance.

    amplifiedparts.com
  • Max Plate Voltage: ~750–800 V (depending on class of service)
  • Power Output: Up to ~60–90+ W in Class C/CW or linear service per tube (pairs common in HF finals)
  • Common Uses: Final amplifier in vintage/hybrid ham transceivers (e.g., Kenwood TS-520/530/820/830, Drake, Collins, Heathkit), mobile transmitters, and industrial RF equipment. Excellent for SSB, CW, and AM service.

Date Code 06/87 = June 1987 manufacture. These late-production GE JAN tubes are highly regarded for quality and are considered among the best 6146-family tubes made (ruggedized construction with strong emission and longevity).

As with most items I sell, This tube comes with a money back satisfaction guarantee.

If multiple tubes are purchased, I will combine the shipping costs and only charge the actual cost.  The difference will be refunded to you immediately.
