Hammarlund SP-600-JX Original 1952 U.S. military Handbook Service Manual T.O. 31R2-4-17-2 with the T.0. 31R-1-7A Supplement.

The T.O. 31R2-4-17-2 (formerly AN 16-45-222), dated 4 September 1952, is the U.S. Air Force/Bureau of Aeronautics Handbook Service Instructions for the Hammarlund Radio Receiver Model SP-600-JX. It is the detailed military service/maintenance manual (schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit descriptions, alignment, troubleshooting, etc.) for the early SP-600-JX series. Versions/Models Covered It applies primarily to the early production SP-600-JX (and closely related SP-600-J) general-purpose communications receivers built to JAN (Joint Army-Navy) specs, covering the standard frequency range of approximately 0.54–54 MHz in six bands (with dual conversion above ~7.4 MHz). These are the 20-tube models with self-contained power supply (90–270 V AC, 50–60 Hz), crystal-controlled fixed-frequency options on the “X” versions (typically up to 6 crystals), selectable IF bandwidths, BFO, noise limiter, etc.
  • It is the core service manual for the basic/early SP-600-JX (and SP-600-J without crystal control) as produced around 1951–early 1950s.
  • Related early military designations/variants it supports include those such as R-274A/FRR (SP-600-JX-1 and close successors) and similar early contracts.
