Description

Heathkit HP-23B AC Power Supply for Many Heathkit Radios including the SB series.

This one is meant to mount in an SB-600 speaker and it was common for this power supply to not have the upper cabinet when mounted in the speaker.

I can be used stand alone as there are rubber feet on the bottom.

This power supply is in Very Good Condition. It does not come with the interface cord with 8 pin octal plugs on each end.

I do not have a working radio to test it with but I did hook it up to a radio which did not work in the transmit mode and the HV looked good on the meter and it powered up the radio with all tubes lit and no obvious problems.

The HP-23B is an upgraded power supply from the earlier versions HP-23 and HP-23A.

It can also be used with other rigs like RL Drake & Collins with rewiring.

As with most vintage power supplies, it would be prudent to replace the original electrolytic capacitors as they are getting quite old.

I am selling it as is, as described.

The HP-23B is a heavy-duty AC power supply from the late 1960s/early 1970s, designed to power Heathkit SB-series and HW-series amateur radio transceivers (such as the SB-301/SB-401 or HW-101). The "B" version is a refined model in the HP-23 family. It provides all necessary voltages in one compact unit and is popular for both kit-built stations and standalone operation and can be mounted in an SB-600 speaker).
