Description
Hickok 539A Mutual Conductance (transconductance/GM) vacuum tube tester in Good Condition.
I tested a few tubes and it appears to be working. I do not calibrate tube testes and do not know much about them.
?the case is in good shape with some fabric worn and masking tape residue under the handle, but over all it looks pretty good for the age.
I am selling it as is, as described.

The Hickok 539A is a vintage mutual conductance (transconductance/GM) vacuum tube tester from around 1949, produced by Hickok Electric Instrument Company. It is a professional-grade analog tester valued by tube audio enthusiasts, radio restorers, and collectors for testing a wide range of tubes (triodes, pentodes, rectifiers, etc.) under realistic operating conditions.
Key Features and Info
- Tests: Mutual conductance (GM in micromhos), emission, leakage, shorts, and gas. It includes adjustable bias and line voltage regulation for accurate results.
- Design: Roll-chart for tube settings, multiple sockets (including for older and specialty tubes), meters for GM and line voltage.
