Description
This RL Drake 9-NB Noise Blanker Board, is for the TR-6 Six Meter Transceiver. It was Removed from Working Radio.
It appears to be in excellent condition.
This is a VERY Rare and hard to find option for the TR-6.
Information
The Drake 9-NB is a solid-state optional accessory noise blanker designed specifically for the R.L. Drake TR-6 six-meter (50 MHz) transceiver. It installs inside the TR-6 with no special tools required. It blanks strong periodic noise pulses (such as ignition noise or power-line noise) by acting at the 9 MHz IF stage before selectivity that would otherwise stretch the pulses. It is less effective against random noise (atmospheric or contact noise).
It was an optional add-on (sometimes factory-installed in later TR-6 units). The board uses 16 transistors (including 2 FETs) and 4 diodes. On receive it processes the 9 MHz signal with a delay network, broadband amplifier, and balanced gate controlled by a noise-pulse processor; on transmit the path is switched appropriately. It introduces no significant signal-level loss when engaged.
The unit is considered rare and hard to find today as a standalone board.Specifications
