Description

Pro-Balun PB-1, 1:1 Balun with Brass Screw Terminals & SO-239 Connector Rated for 1500 Watts NEW

This balun unlike many, has very high quality Brass Screw Connectors to prevent corrossion.

I have only a few of these high quality baluns left!

Reliable 1:1 balun from SPH-RO (Spi-Ro line). Perfect as a center insulator for HF dipoles and balanced antennas. Features durable white PVC weatherproof enclosure, top eyebolt, dual brass wire terminals, and SO-239 coax connector.  Helps eliminate feedline radiation and RFI while handling substantial power. A proven performer for serious antenna setups.
  • Ratio: 1:1 (unbalanced coax input to balanced output).
  • Typical Use: Center insulator/feed point for dipoles, inverted-Vs, or other balanced HF antennas. Prevents common-mode currents on the coax shield, reduces RFI, improves radiation pattern, and keeps the feedline from radiating.
  • Connectors: SO-239 (PL-259 compatible) at the bottom for coax; two brass side terminals for antenna wires, eyebolt at top for hanging/suspension.
  • Construction: Rugged white PVC weatherproof cylindrical housing, made in the USA by SPH-RO Manufacturing, Inc.
  • Frequency: Optimized for HF (commonly 1.5–35 MHz or broader depending on exact version).
  • Power: rated 1,500 watts PEP (common for this line of "deluxe" baluns).
These were popular, reliable USA-made units from the 1980s–2000s era for ham antenna projects.
