It is a modern recreation of early 20th-century regenerative designs, popular among antique radio enthusiasts, builders, and collectors. The kit was featured in November 2017 QST magazine (ARRL), which significantly boosted its visibility.

- Tube: Typically uses a 3S4 (or equivalent) directly-heated pentode in regenerative detector/audio configuration.
- Construction: High-quality components including furniture-grade pre-drilled wood base, air-variable tuning capacitor, NOS or quality tube socket, custom coil form, potentiometer with switch, resistors, capacitors, hookup wire, fahnstock clips, knobs, and hardware. Everything needed for assembly except batteries, headphones/earphone, and antenna.
- Power: “A” battery (1.5V, usually D cells) for filament and “B” battery (typically 45V from multiple 9V batteries). Your kit includes three custom retro battery replicas for authentic vintage appearance. Each has battery holders inside for the 9 volt and D cell batteries.
- Performance: Capable of good local reception and DX (hundreds to over 1,000 miles reported under good conditions) with a long-wire antenna and ground. High-impedance magnetic headphones recommended.
