This Johnson Viking Adventurer 50 Watt input CW Amateur Novice Transmitter, covers 80, 40, 20, 15, 11 & 10 Meters

- Power Output: Approximately 50–55 watts input on CW (crystal-controlled or VFO); good output on 40 meters as you noted.
- Bands: 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters (using plug-in coils or band-specific tuning).
- Modes: Primarily CW; some AM phone capability with modulation.
- Tubes: Typical lineup includes 6AG7 (oscillator), 6L6 or similar (final amplifier), and rectifier tubes.
- Controls: Oscillator tuning, final tuning, coupling (antenna), grid/plate current metering, VFO/Crystal switch, key jack, on/off switch.

- Modifications: Yours has a rear panel-mounted SO-239 connector (common and practical upgrade for modern coax use
This one is in Very Nice condition. Like many of these transmitters, the previous owner installed a flange mount SO-239 connector and enlarged the cabinet opening to make it fit. It is in the back and the rest looks great.
I tested it with an 80 meter crystal and it put out the rated power.
The front panel is super clean and the transmitter has the original paint and finish that look great!
As with most vintage gear, the electrolytic capacitors should be replaced before put into service.
