Description

Svetlana 811A Vacuum Tubes, Matched Pair (2) NOS 9412 Date Code, Tested Full Output, in Original Boxes

These tubes were purchased new and were never used. I tested them in an Ameritron 811 Amplifier and they are full emission.

These rugged tubes are no longer manufactured and are known to be much better than the Chinese 811A tubes you get today.

Svetlana 811A tubes are high-mu power triodes (directly heated thoriated tungsten filament) made in Russia at the Electronpribor plant in Ryazan (often associated with Svetlana branding). They serve as direct replacements for the classic RCA 811/811A and work well in Class AB, B, or C RF and audio amplifiers.

Key Specs (Typical for 811A)
  • Filament: 6.3V at 4A.
  • Max Plate Voltage: ~1250V (CCS) to 1500V (ICAS).
  • Plate Dissipation: 45W CCS / 65W ICAS (some ratings note 60W).
  • Useful for: Linear amplifiers (e.g., Ameritron AL-811 series), RF transmitting up to ~30 MHz, and audio modulators/amplifiers.
  • They feature a white ceramic base and bonded-ceramic plate cap insulator for better high-power RF performance.

Date code 9412 almost certainly means manufactured in December 1994 (common format: YYMM). These are genuine mid-1990s New Old Stock (NOS) from the desirable Russian production era. Tubes from this period are well-regarded for build quality and longevity compared to many modern Chinese alternatives.
